Converse EDI Design - Lesbianism
BP Graphic - 2023/24
In selecting Lesbianism as the focal point for my Converse design competition entry, I am driven by a profound commitment to fostering inclusivity, understanding, and empowerment within the realm of design. By choosing this EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) topic, my aim is to challenge societal norms, break down stereotypes, and create a visual narrative that celebrates the diversity of human experiences. Lesbianism, often overlooked or misrepresented in mainstream discourse, presents an opportunity to shed light on the unique struggles, triumphs, and contributions of this community. Through my design, I aspire to ignite conversations, challenge preconceptions, and contribute to a more inclusive and empathetic understanding of diverse identities. This project serves as a visual manifesto, advocating for acceptance and representation, and aspires to evoke a positive impact by fostering dialogue, empathy, and a broader cultural appreciation for the spectrum of human relationships and experiences.

Final Outcome & Mockups
In concluding my converse design competition project centred around the theme of Lesbianism, I am gratified to see the success of the endeavour. Through meticulous design choices, I aimed to amplify the voices and storeys often marginalised or overlooked in mainstream discourse. The project not only achieved its visual objectives but also served as a catalyst for meaningful conversations and reflections on diversity, equality, and inclusivity. By navigating the complexities of the chosen EDI topic, I sought to challenge societal norms and present a visual narrative that resonates with authenticity and empathy. The positive reception and impact of the design underscore the importance of utilising design as a powerful tool for social change and representation. As the project concludes, I take pride in contributing to a more inclusive visual landscape and hope that it sparks continued dialogue, understanding, and appreciation for the richness of human experiences.
